Shrey Patel is from Aurora, Illinois and graduated high honors with a bachelor of science in Bioengineering and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in May 2022.
During his undergraduate career, Patel held research positions with UIUC’s Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Iowa’s Endocrinology Lab, and the Allergy Department at Lurie Children’s Hospital. He was also heavily involved with the American Cancer Society on campus and the Illinois Emergency Medical Services as an EMT-Basic.
Prior to matriculating, Patel worked in biotechnology to streamline the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular-related issues in the brain. He is currently interested in research and innovative projects revolving around pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, radiology, and allergy.
In his spare time, Patel enjoys playing soccer, gaming with his friends, running, and traveling. His favorite destination is the South Island of New Zealand.
